Allison Garris received her M.S. degree from the University of Rhode Island in Human Development and Family Studies and holds a B.A. in Psychology from Central Connecticut State University. She began her career at the University of Bridgeport as an undergraduate admissions counselor, but has since transitioned to graduate admissions where she works with incoming naturopathic and acupuncture students. Allison is also the Co-Chair of the Professional Development Committee for the New England Association of Graduate Admissions Professionals (NEGAP) and the Coordinator of the University of Bridgeport Naturopathic Doctor (UBND) Student Representative program. Allison believes herself to be an old soul, as her favorite things include 1940s fashion, opera, and NPR.
One of the most enjoyable opportunities I have working in admissions is meeting students from all over the U.S. whose passion is naturopathic medicine. University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine (UBCNM) provides students with a wonderful opportunity to explore not only naturopathic medicine, which is complemented by our emphasis on generative and integrative care, but also our commitment to cultural diversity and awareness within our curriculum and clinical rotations. I am more than excited to be a part of AANMC!
