Safiya McCarter, ND, MSAOM, LAc
Dr. Safiya McCarter is a dual licensed Naturopathic Doctor and Acupuncturist and owner of Flourish and Balance Integrative Medicine and Safiya M. Consulting. Her primary practice is located in Rockville, Maryland with a satellite office in Baltimore, Maryland. In her work as a clinician, she focuses on reproductive health and pain management. In her work as a consultant, Dr. McCarter facilitates organizations in their work of establishing a standard of equity, inclusion, access and diversity and applying that standard to the work they do and the services they provide.
Dr. McCarter currently serves on the Board of Directors for Black Acupuncturist Association (BAA) serving as treasurer and the National Association of Black Naturopathic Physicians (NABNP), serving as the inaugural president.
Dr. McCarter is currently a fellow in the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine (AIHM) Interprofessional Fellowship Program. She completed her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and Master of Science in Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine at Bastyr University-Washington and Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology and Mathematics at Clark Atlanta University, Atlanta, GA.
Dr. McCarter is a lover of brunch and nature. On the weekends you will find her walking, hiking, trying out a new restaurant for brunch or practicing her new hobby of roller skating.
