Dr. Crystalin Montgomery
Dr. Crystalin Montgomery is a Minnesota Board Registered Naturopathic Doctor and Licensed Acupuncturist, and currently sees patients with complex, chronic conditions virtually for naturopathic and functional medicine care. She also sees patients for acupuncture at the University of Minnesota Physicians Psychiatry Clinics (St. Louis Park Psychiatry Clinic). In addition to patient care, her work with the UMP Integrative Psychiatry and Wellness Team also includes development of clinical services, resident education, and psychoeducation for families with psychosis and groups in the substance use residential program.
While undergoing a rigorous academic program of concurrent studies in naturopathic and classical Chinese medicine at the National College of Natural Medicine (now NUNM), Dr. Montgomery completed clinical training that included a three-year mentorship in women’s health. During her Chinese medicine training, she continued to see a high volume of patients with a range of chronic conditions, including cancer, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s, and other autoimmune conditions. Additionally, Dr. Montgomery completed training in Holistic Pelvic Care, a therapy developed and taught by Tami Kent, PT, to address chronic pelvic issues.
Dr. Montgomery came to naturopathic and classical Chinese medicine via her experience as a collegiate athlete and coach. Her personal experience with sports-related injuries led her to explore various approaches to optimize her body’s recovery. She became interested in learning how to utilize nutrition, movement and other forms of natural healing to keep the body in top shape and prevent injuries.
