AANMC Board News – Dr. Rogers

It is with heavy hearts, that we share the news of the passing of Dr. Sandra Chimon Rogers, esteemed Chair of the AANMC Board, who passed away in June after an unexpected illness. Dr. Rogers served on AANMC’s Board of Directors during the height of the pandemic and through our return to regular instruction. She was instrumental in calmly navigating the tumultuous terrain of educational delivery in a global crisis. We honor a remarkable leader whose contributions profoundly impacted the field of health sciences and naturopathic medicine. You would have been hard-pressed to find a more dedicated servant-leader.

Dr. Rogers, Dean of the College of Professional Studies at the National University of Health Sciences (NUHS), dedicated her career to advancing education, fostering innovation, mentoring colleagues, and nurturing future healthcare professionals. Her work in bioanalytical nuclear neurochemistry, especially on Alzheimer’s prevention, including collaborations with NASA, and her leadership roles at prestigious institutions like the University of Illinois and DePaul University, as well as her children’s school board of education, highlight her exceptional commitment to science, education and people. Dr. Rogers’ legacy of excellence, passion for teaching, and innovative spirit will continue to inspire us all. We celebrate her memory.

We extend our deepest sympathies to her family, academic community, colleagues, and all who were touched by her wisdom and kindness.
