WHAT A BUSY MONTH FOR THE AANMC!
June began with a summit for our Central Application system, NDCAS –where we learned about the amazing improvements that will make student applications easier and more user friendly. AANMC is scheduled to get the new NDCAS system September 2015.
I then went out to Brea, CA for the ACCAHC Board meeting June 21-23, and from there to San Francisco for National Association of Advisors for the Health Professions June 23-30. The NAAHP event was a success! Well over 200 pre-health college advisors visited our hands-on demo of Food as Medicine and approximately 500+ advisors and students interacted with us at the exhibit booth and overall at the conference. Thanks to those of you who were able to attend!
That Friday, I gave a talk on positivity and happiness/work-life balance – and it was well attended and received – and a great reminder to practice what I preach! My family and I are in the middle of a move across country –so the stress reduction techniques and breathing exercises were TIMELY!
I also was given the honor of introducing Dr. Barbara Brandt during her keynote address. She is one of the foremost experts in interprofessional practice and is the director of the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education.
