AANP Endorses Petition to Cover ND Visits Under New Healthcare Law

An online petition to include licensed naturopathic physicians as primary care providers as part of the Federal Healthcare Law has been posted on the Obama Administration’s website, We The People. The petition reads, in part: “the inclusion of licensed naturopathic physicians would offer patients the option of seeking alternative medicine care covered by insurance and provide access for those currently unable to afford care.”

In order to be reviewed and responded to by the Administration, the petition must meet the signature threshold of 25,000 signatures by December 7, 2012. The petition has the endorsement of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP) and had received over 8,600 signatures by November 14, 2012.

Sign the petition to support insurance coverage for NDs working as primary care physicians.
