Bastyr, Sonoran University Win Judge’s Pick & Popular Vote
(January 3, 2013) – The winners of the AANMC ND Student Video Contest were announced today. The contest guidelines encouraged students to create and submit videos that would “display the credibility and rigor of naturopathic medical schools (and students), while at the same time exemplifying the passion and vitalism within the campus settings.”
The Judge’s Pick and a $2,500 cash prize were awarded to the video, “A Better Way,” by Bastyr University California students Adam Silberman and Natiya Guin. The judges chose this video because they felt it best expressed the spirit, the content and the credibility of naturopathic medical education in an entertaining and creative way.
After down-to-the-wire voting on Facebook and YouTube, Sonoran University’s Trevor Sexton won the popular vote (and a $1,000 cash prize) with his irreverent and funny “Man vs Wild” video. Because the final tallies of the popular vote were so close, the AANMC decided to award a $500 prize to the runner-up, “Swagga Coach,” by Bastyr University Washington students Kevin Kuo, James Gilchrist and Dominic Valdes.
All students who submitted a video will receive movie tickets and an ND schools T-shirt. AANMC congratulates the contest winners and thanks everyone who participated in this contest.
