The Association of Accredited Naturopathic Medical Colleges (AANMC) is pleased to recognize the outstanding contributions of Dr. Paul Mittman to the field of natural medicine, as well as his enduring impact on the success of students at Sonoran University of Health Sciences. We thank him for his service to the profession and role in founding AANMC.
Dr. Mittman dedicated his career to advancing the credibility, visibility, and reach of naturopathic medicine. By creating authentic relationships with key industry stakeholders across medicine, education, philanthropy and the natural products industry, he fostered groundbreaking opportunities for students, practitioners, and researchers and the industry at large. His vision empowered the next generation of doctors and further integrated naturopathic voices into national conversations about health policy and innovation.
Under Dr. Mittman’s leadership at Sonoran University, students experienced unprecedented growth in essential areas such as education, hands-on training, and access to internship opportunities. Additionally, his commitment to the profession provided funding for critical research and advocacy initiatives that have shaped and strengthened the future of naturopathic care across the United States.

Dr. Mittman’s multiple decades of contributions will serve as a foundation for continued growth and success for years to come. In recognition of his dedication to the sport of road biking, we have contributed to a campus bicycle rack in his name. AANMC extends its heartfelt gratitude for Dr. Mittman’s years of service and wishes him the very best in retirement.
