AANMC and CCACO announce the completion of the AANMC Professional Core Competencies of the Graduating Naturopathic Student
(November 18, 2014) After over two years of work and research the Association of Accredited Naturopathic Medical Colleges (AANMC) and the Council of Chief Academic and Clinical Officers (CCACO) have completed the AANMC Professional Core Competencies of the Graduating Naturopathic Student. This document was created to inform naturopathic doctoral programs and curricula. By creating these competencies AANMC and CCACO have set standards for naturopathic medical education that will serve as a guide for accredited naturopathic medical schools, expectations for ND students and inform the public regarding the education of naturopathic physicians.
“We are very excited about the completion of the Core Competencies. This document will not only help to create consistency among naturopathic doctorate programs; it will also hold naturopathic medical school graduates to a higher standard”, said Dr. JoAnn Yanez, Executive Director of AANMC.
