In retrospect, I came to naturopathic medical school seeking solutions to my own health issues. Today I hope to inspire and educate those seeking additional therapies to treat their illnesses as illness can often be cured when one creates the conditions for health.
We have so many powerful tools and can make so many positive changes with naturopathic medicine because it is so good at working on the whole person and not just the disease. Being passionate about naturopathic medicine and having a clear vision of what you want to do will set you up for success.
As an athlete, I struggled with chronic stress fractures and eventually fractured my pubic bone. After a lack of answers from medical specialists, I was forced to search on my own for the underlying cause, which ultimately led me to a career in Naturopathic and Chiropractic Medicine.

Dr. Crystal Foresman-Landers, OT, ND, CNS is the first and only dual licensed occupational therapist and naturopathic doctor in the United States. Dr. Foresman-Landers is also a board certified nutrition specialist. She provides naturopathic, functional medicine, functional integrative nutrition and integrative occupational therapy services in Wheaton, Illinois.
In order to continue to ensure that students graduate with a complete set of business skills to succeed in today’s health care marketplace, National University recently redesigned the business curriculum in the naturopathic medicine program.
Dr. Bose serves as a full-time attending clinician throughout all clinical courses at NUHS and serves as a mentor to her students. “Many times, students know the information, but just need a little push to realize they are capable. Confidence develops with experience and the right mentorship. I hope I provide that mentorship to my students.”
While classrooms and the on-campus clinic remain closed due to COVID-19, National University’s naturopathic medicine students have been able to successfully adapt through online coursework and virtual telehealth visits with patients.
